Day 1: _hiato

Indpls, IN., 12:00am, 5/30/2011 (unedited)

May 30, 2010. I decided to take a $50.00 camera from K-Mart on a bike ride through downtown with my girlfriend. I snapped photos of her looking beautiful & that’s where it all began. I’ve always had a deep love for the art of photography. There is something genuinely poetic about a captured moment.

For 365 days (maybe more, maybe less), while on my social networking hiatus, I’ll be capturing moments and posting them here with my Sony NEX-5. I’m unsure of where this is going, but I’m sure I’ll find out soon.

Happy Monday,

noved

Ready.

Late nights, early mornings-- art everywhere. Summer 2k11... I'm ready. However, I may want to start a little early. This semester isn't what I though it would be. Time to switch majors. Maybe even schools.

"We're becoming a nation of passive-aggressive internet bloggers."

-Jessica Renee Raisor

This is a PSA: If you intend on maintaining a relationship with me (business or personal) do NOT let me learn of unresolved issues through a fb status update. We're supposed to be adults. Email me, call me, text me, schedule a meeting... or remove yourself. Thanks.

"Here comes the sun- do- do- do- do...

Here comes the sun, and I say 'it's alright." (Beatles fan here)

Things were lookin' a little colorless on here so I decided to post the photos A'isha and I took of a good friend.

Meet Marshelle:

She is *deep breath* obnoxious, lovely, poetic, hilarious, dopetastic, raw, magnetic, dinghy/ blonde (wrote dingy first until A'isha corrected me lol), Afrocentric, proud, fabulous, weird, nerdy, purple, minty, goofy, fashion forward, rude, crude, and socially unacceptable... & a fellow Jag. =P

And we love that fluffy ass fro!!

I think she adds the splash of color and light that this blog needed. Working with her on set is always fun. She keeps us in stitches the entire time! She is the first model A'isha and I worked with when we began noved-Fotografia, and the above photos are from that same set. She also introduced us to our resident hair stylist, J.Love! Working with Shelle is always dope.

You'll be seing more of her... trust me ;)

Jump up in the air...

& stay there.

Photo cred goes to Komal Virdi

My team and I recently wrapped up our first day of production for our documentary this past Saturday. Man... words can't explain how excited I am to see everything be put into fruition! The theme of the documentary focuses on gentrification throughout the Indianapolis area. We hope to juxtapose it with a collaborative photography exhibition sometime next year. Details will come soon.

When you've got a solid team behind you, any and everything can become possible.

Stay tuned! ;)
